The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Certificate conflict using CEICW, ISA 2004 and IIS v6 on SBS 2003 R2

Asked by MarcusN in MS Forefront-ISA, Microsoft IIS Web Server, SBS Small Business Server

System: MS SBS 2003 R2, ISA 2004, IIS v6.0

Problem: I now have a URL from DYNDNS called CompanyName.com. I ran CEICW a few weeks ago to add this and generate a new certificate. Worked fine. Could type
https://www.CompanyName.com/remote
and everything was fine.

I had to add another listener the other day and that was fine.

I re-ran CEICW and generated a new certificate. CEICW completed properly with no errors. I ran a mmc with the certificate snap in and deleted old certificates.

Now I can't get t https://www.CompanyName.com/remote or exchange from the LAN or the WAN. In both cases I get the the following error message;
504 Proxy Timeout. The connection timed out. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help. (10060)

When I go to Server Management -> Advanced Management -> IIS -> ServerName -> Web Sites -> Default Web Site (right click) and select the Directory Security -> Secure Communications -> View Certificate -> General button the information says:

This certificate is intended for the following purpose(s):
Ensures the identity of the remote computer
All issuance policies
Issued to publishing.OldCompanyName.local
Issued by publishing.OldCompanyName.local

Why doesn't it say www.CompanyName.com?

When I look at Details instead of General select SUbject it says
CN = publishing.OldCompanyName.local
CN = companyweb
Cn = ServerName
CN = localhost
CN = ServerName.OldCompanyName.local

Why is there no CN = www.CompanyName.com? How do I add that?

Why can't I get remote access any more?

How can I generate a brand new certificate for IIS and ISA?

I have installed the Certification Authority from the SBS 2003 R2 CD-ROM but don't know where to start...Start Free Trial
