The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

ISA DMZ Scenario - For OCS EDGE

Asked by bigsquish in MS Forefront-ISA

Hello Experts,

I have been struggling with my EDGE server deployment for OCS.  The actual edge server config is fine, i had it directly conencted to the internet and i can login from external.  Once i created the 3rd leg on my ISA, i cannot for the life of me have get it working.
I jad posted another question realted to this earlier -
http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Server/MS_Internet_Security_and_Accel/Q_23712622.html

Once i had the subnet issue solved i thought i might be on my way but i have a few more questions.

I have a block of external ips.  from x.x.x.31-x.x.x.63 using a /27 mask.

I subnetted the above and setup the DMZ to use - x.x.x.40 /29. and assinged the dmz nic .46

On my external NIC can i still  use the block of ips the ISP issued?  ie. assign .34 and the gateway as .62 or do i have to account for the resubbing of the ndmz and leave that subnet out?
I that case should i be assigning .33/29 to the external.

I'm sure i have ignored a few ISA principles..but any help would be appreciated.

i would love to ping the server on the dmz first from the outside. i can work with the rules once that is working.
