We're planning the migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. Things are working out well so far. But I'm not quite sure about the SANs.
EXCHANGE 2007 SERVERS
2 mailbox servers, 2 Hub in NLB, 2 CAS and 2 Edge
LOCAL AREA NETWORKS
LAN: Windows 2008 Active Directory, all mailbox, hub and cas servers
DMZ: 2 ISA 2006 SP1 servers and 2 Edge
PUBLIC IPs
MX1 goes to the first public IP
MX2 goes to the second public IP
DNS
external managed DNS services. We manage all external records from there. I don't think we have to change anything on the local DNS
Note: the local domain name and public domain name are different so no Split DNS is required
Here is what I think I should add to the SAN, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Hostname: owa.externaldomain.com
domaine name: publicdomain.com localdomain.com
Internal FQDN: cas01.localdomain.com cas02.localdomain.com
external FQDN: cas01.publicdomain.com cas02.publicdomain.com
autodiscover: autodiscover.publicdomain.
com autodiscover.localdomain.c
om
