The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

LCSAddContacts.wsf Script Removes All Contacts from Random Users

I implemented this a few years ago, and it does a pretty nice job. I run one script when a new user begins to add to everyone's Communicator. I run another one when an employee leaves to delete it from all users Communicator. It seems that every time I run it, there are between 1-3 users who seem to end up with no contacts in their Communicator, or only the new one I added. I cannot find any documentation on this and of course it's a "non supported" script, but would like to get to the bottom of it.
Here is the syntax of the script I use:
REM first line populates the contacts file
dsquery * "CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=org" -attr msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress -scope onelevel -limit 10000 >D:\filepath\contacts.txt
REM second line adds the contacts to each user in Active directory
cscript D:\utility\batch\LCSAddContacts.wsf /usersFile:D:\filepath\contacts.txt /contactsFile:D:\filepath\contacts.txt
REM 3rd line sets everyone to ALLOW
cscript D:\utility\batch\LCSAddACEs.wsf /usersFile:D:\filepath\contacts.txt /acesFile:D:\filepath\aces.txt

now this script runs with errors, but from what I can see it is only because the contacts.txt file gets populated with empty lines, which I could never figure out a way around. This doesn't really seem to matter because the script will just go to the next line and process until one has the proper SIP syntax.Start Free Trial
