The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

"Failure [0x8007202F] A constraint violation occurred" error during OCS 2007 SE Installation

Asked by svmEMDS in MS Live Communications Server, VMware

Tags: , ,

Currently installing OCS Server 2007 in our lab environment.   Successfully performed all of the Active Directory Preparation with the OCS 2007 installation Wizard without any issue.   Installing the Standard Edition server on a WIN2K3 SP2 server on VMware.  Used an Admin ID with all of the correct permissions and ran the OCS 2007 Wizard on the server console from the CD.  Installation went fine and then stopped at the end with the Constraint Violation I listed in the question title.  I looked at the installation log files but they didn't really pinpoint what is causing this.     The below link I found on Google pretty much parallels the issue I am seeing, right down to the server config and it being on VMware.

http://forums.microsoft.com/unifiedcommunications/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1703744&SiteID=57

When I look at the server after the install failed at the end I noticed it did complete in almost every area except for this Pool area.   Databases installed the Admin Console was available to bring up also.  Attached is a screen shot which shows the Installation listed as partial.

I don't believe this issue is caused by the fact the servers I am installing on are VMware.   Anyone know what is causing this Constraint Violation during the install ?
