Problems Re-Installing Office Communications Server 2007

Ok, I know that it isn't supported on SBS (or any domain controller), but I did have Office Communications Server 2007 at least half-way working before I uninstalled in an attempt to isolate another problem.

Now I want to reinstall. I had found an article that walked me through the uninstall process, but it didn't complete on the Web Components portion. It got to the point of writing the changes to IIS and it gave an error message of: Error 0x80004005 (Unspecified Error) occured while executing command 'C:\Windows\system32\Cscript.exe'. For more details, check log file ' . . . \Temp\LCSSetup_Commands.log'"

It then attempts to roll back the attempted uninstall and gives another error: "Failed to register DLL with perfmon (-2147024894 D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007\Web Components\Group Expansion\Ext\Bin\DlxPerf.ini)

It then finishes the uninstall.  I then try to reinstall since I couldn't find any help on these errors.  Only now, during the reinstall process - after preparing Active Directory (successful), it shows the Deploy Server as "partial". I Run it anyway, step through the process and eventually get this error message: "Invalid Database Access Account(s) Specified. Please ensure the specified database accounts are valid domain or machine accounts".  I only have the option to cancel or retry, so I cancel.  I look in the logs and read: "10/31/20081:26:50 AM

CScript.exe //U //Nologo PoolCfgDBSetup.wsf /clean /dbsize:32 /dbpath:"D:\LC Data\" /logsize:32 /logpath:"D:\LC Log\" /lcsvcgroup:"DOMAIN\RTC Server Local Group;DOMAIN\RTC Component Local Group" /srvadmingrp:"DOMAIN\RTC Local Administrators" /usradmingrp:"DOMAIN\RTC Local User Administrators;DOMAIN\RTC Local Read-only Administrators" /serverrole:"HS" /verbose

That's it. I'm seemingly stuck. I can't uninstall completely and I can't reinstall.  Please help.

I have this same problem, but on a Windows Server 2003 machine.  I do not understand the solution suggested by gaanthony.  Could someone explain that in more detail please?
