The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Outlook calendar off by one hour after DST
Tags: off, hour, outlook, calendar, one
I have checked and double checked everything regarding this DST change. My blackberry devices are patched, my servers are patched, however, when a user creates a new appointment on their blackberry, the appointment appears as one hour later on their outlook, and vice versa.  Is there something I am missing, some kind of documentation or release info I should have known about?

did you run the separate outlook patch (the outlook patch is separate from the DST patch)

We have the same problem, and yes we used the separate Outlook patch. Our environment:

Windows 2003 SP1 (fully patched) with Exchange 2003 (fully patched) over it.
Windows XP SP2 (fully patched)
BES 3.6
Blackberry 8700

I've already been through T-Mobile and am on hold w/RIM right now. Any solutions for this issue?

JB

OK- After 3 hours on hold with RIM BES support, I have a resolution. For me, this was a problem with the CDO.DLL. I had an old version in the %systemroot%\system32 folder. This is the process I used. Please keep in mind that the locations for your cdo.dll might be different based on your Operating System.

1) Search for cdo.dll on your OS drive.
2) Check the version levels of the ones you find. The newest one I found was in c:\program files\exchsvr\bin and was version 6.5.7651.61).
3) Back up your old cdo.dll file in c:\windows\system32, or wherever you find the older file.
4) Copy the newer cdo.dll into the c:\windows\system32 directory overwriting the old file.
5) From Start>Run line type "regsvr32 -u cdo.dll" without the quotes, click OK and look for the confirmation that this succeeded.
6) Same run line, type "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\cdo.dll", again without the quotes. This will register the newer cdo file with the server.

This worked immediately for us but RIM server support indicated it may require a reboot for some systems.
