The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Backup and restore WSUS database

Hi - I had a Virtual Windows 2k server running WSUS.
Since then I experimented with Active Directory and have since screwed up the server. Can't get to http://locahost/wsusadmin

I've created a new server since then, and when I get it up and running I'll probably delete the old one. However I'm having a few issues in copying the downloaded updates form the old server to th new one.

WSUS Help say to copy accross the folders "C:\WSUS\wsuscontent" and "C:\WSUS\MSSQL$WSUS".
Due to my not installing WSUS correctly the first time around and then having to fic up the options later, my content folder resides in "C:\Program Files\Update Services\wsuscontent". However (and there is always a 'however') I can't find the other folder I need to copy (that contains the SQL database). WSUS is up and running on the new server, and I've copied the wsuscontent to the correct location, but the webpage displays '0 updates'. I'd appreciate your help in getting this to work again (since I don't want to download everything again).
