Win NT 4 Local Groups on Win 2K3 Server Member Server

Asked by JHammerer in Microsoft Server, Windows Network Security Questions

Tags: local, group, server

I have just installed a new Windows 2003 Server into my NT 4 domain.
This is my new file server.
I have restored all of the files with permissions.
My problems is that I set up some of the groups as local groups and not GLOBAL groups.
When I check the permissions on the new 2K3 server, it recognizes the name of the local group but does not grant the specified access.
Is there a way to convert the Local Group's SID to a Global Group?
If not, what is the best way to get my group permissions working again?
