I have a Windows 2000 machine which runs as a web server. It ran fine and fast.
My host gave me 5 new ip addresses (same class d) to replace the existing ones. The new ones have a different class a, b, c,... So I added them to the local area network and gave them a new gateway. So now I have old and new ip addresses online.
It seems ever since the response from the server became very sluggish. This is a colocated server. All web sites load slow and remote control sessions sometimes are very slow. On the physical machine the web sites load fast. CPU load is fine. Physical drives performance checks look very good. I ran a speed test at speedtest.dslreports.com and the download and upload speeds look good (about 1500 kbps which is typical).
I noticed that remote sessions using the old ip addresses start faster than using a new ip address but still the session overall is slower than I am used to.
I can't figure put what the problem is. My idea is the new ip addresses are the culprit. My host doesn't know exactly what's wrong. They are Linux people so they don't know much about Windows.
My web sites owners are complaining about slow web sites. I am getting frustrated!
