The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Windows licensing logging service

Tags: Server, Licensing, logging, LLS, replication, dumb boss
I am having an issue with windows licensing logging service. My boss believes that it is required for terminal service licensing to work properly. I know and my team knows that the two are not connected, however she will not let us continue with are terminal server project until I resolve the issue with LLS. grrrr.

So the issue with LLS is between a few select servers the logging information is not being replicated. Other servers are replicating this information correctly.

Some background:
I think they had LLS running before, my company merged with another, they built a new dc and demoted a few others. The server that was handling the lls was a dc which got demoted and dismantled, the IT manager quit, I got hired and stuck with many issues.

What I have already done:
1) ensured the correct server was listed as the licensing server in AD sites and services.
2) ensured the servers can communicate with each other. (no simply network communication error)
3) restarted the licensing logging service on servers in the enterprise. Microsoft kb article 194065

We have a mixed enviroment. 2000 servers are sp4, 2003 servers are r2, sp1 and sp2. DCs are 2003. No servers are SBS.

So any help with LLS and suggestions on how to get LLS to replicate would be welcomed.

Thanks
