Active directory migration from Win 2000 versus Win 2008 domain
Hello Gurus,
I'm planning to move from a domain based on Windows 2000 Server to Windows 20008.
I know the migration between Win 2000 and Win 2003 was a bit boring and riscky, so i wonder:
1. do you suggest to execute a direct migration between the two environment?
2. there are suggestion, best pratice or whatever available for this task?
3. possible risks?
4. what do you think about hosting the active directory domain on a virtual environment (hyper.v)?
Other usefull informations to understand the environment: our domain hosts 150 users and about 100 computers/laptops, we have a secondary domain controller on a branch office connected with a VPN with Win 2000 also.
Any suggestion/experince will be appreciated!
Thanks!
