Re-establish trust relationship between work station and crashed SBS 2003.

Asked by Nukebug in SBS Small Business Server, Microsoft Server

I have a SBS 2003 that crashed.  I was not able to save the Active Directory.  I was able to restore data from my data drive.  I reloaded the server and recreated the AD.  I went to the first workstation and disconnected it from the old domain and moved it to a work group and then back to the domain to re-establish the trust relationship, but lost the profile.  Is there a way to force the trust relationship without losing the profile.  Right now if I leave it with out connecting it to the server, if the user starts the computer and waits for any lenght of time, they get the error that the domain controller cannot be found.  I've read posts that suggest using the USMT, but that is so overwhelmin, and I've not found a good tutorial on how to use it.  I would prefer if possible to not have to restore the profile, just merely force the trust relationship, provided that I do not lose the profile anyway.Start Free Trial
