I have a new (purchased January 2008) Windows 2003 (64 bit) server running Exchange. One of my laptop users is coming up with an Error 1053 several times a day. He has been logging onto the domain but for some reason the server is giving him this error. I have attached a copy of the error log. You can see it is happening several times a day. I thought originally that it may be a bad switch. I purchased new switches gigabit switches but the problem still exists. The wiring in the building is only 3 years old and it is all cat 6 with straight runs.
This is what the error says:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. [The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. ]. Group Policy processing aborted.
