I did that already. I added the driver and it's listed but still having issues.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have a HP laser jet connected to my local pc via USB. When I RDP into terminal server with my ts account that local printer gets redirected to the server. My issue is, when i try to print the print job fails automatically. The job sits in the queue and fails. I know that the redirection is occurring because the job also shows on my local pC printer queue. I have reinstalled my printer, looked for new drivers, and added the printer to the server. I have yet to find anything that can solve my issue.

try purging the driver from the TS:
Printers folder, file -> server properties, drivers tab
if the driver reports it can't be removed, open a command propt and stop and start the spooler service
net stop spooler
net start spooler
reload the driver:
share the printer on your local PC.
RDP to the TS, the navigate to the shared printer on your PC:
in the address bar or explorer
\\<local PC name or IP address>\
right click the printer and connect (this WILL load the drivers)
print a test page to make sure the driver works.
disconnect the mapped printer, close the session, the re-RDP into the TS and see if it works.

RDP will connect the local printer, but not load the drivers on the term server. install the EXACT same driver on the TS and give it a go
