The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard SP2 Terminal Server

Logon rejected for DOMAIN\username. Unable to obtain Terminal Server User Configuration. Error: The RPC server is unavailable.

Approximately 2-3 times per week for the past several months my client has had to reboot their primary terminal server due to "RPC Server Unavailable" errors.  This happens at any time of the day; usually when there is very little, if any, activity.  A reboot is the only thing that clears it up until the issue occurs again a day or three later.

What I've done so far:
- Remove/Readd server to the domain
- Add entry in hosts file for DC
- Verify all DNS-related info is setup properly on server
- Hope, pray, beg for this problem to go away

As I do not work in the same site as the server I have been unable to even attempt to access the console prior to the client rebooting it.  Therefore I am not sure if any RPC-related services have stopped and caused the RPC error.  However, there is nothing in any of the Event Logs stating anything remotely related to a service being stopped or any other error occurring before the RPC error kicks in.

I've probably read every post on EE that has anything even remotely related to this issue and tried most, if not all, of the suggestions made however none of them have helped me fix the actual root issue.
