Preventing users from saving changes during TS session

Asked by vossupport in Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, Windows 2003 Server

Tags: Microsoft, Terminal Server, 2003

I am about to setup a forty user lan with a 2003 Terminal Server and 40 Wyse thin clients.  What we want to accomplish is three groups of users, each group sees a particular desktop when they login containing the icons/programs they are permitted to use.

They use their thinclient during the day, maybe put a new background up or screen saver, then logout at the end of the day.  When they log back in the next day, we want them to be back to the default profile they saw when they logged in the previous morning.

We will have mapped drives pointing their applications to where to save data, but nothing on the desktop or changes made to the desktop should save.  Changes made by an administrator to that default template would affect everyone.

a) Is this possible?
b) Possible side-effects?
c) Link or post a document that gives a how-to on setting up this sort of profile.
