The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Hide other session printer / only show default printer.

Asked by Nille-as in Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, Windows 2003 Server, Citrix

Tags: , ,

I have 6 terminal servers with Citrix presentation server 4.5 at HQ. Have 270 Wyse S10 terminals in different locations to use against the Citrix farm. It is also a HP2015 printer on every location attached to print server at HQ. Have one published application IE7. Imported the IE7 ADM files, and are using GPO All the terminals are using the same username to log on to the Wyse terminal, and the published application. This is because it makes things a lot easier for the end users. Less passwords etc.

I also use policy maker, which allowes me to create a printer based on the IP adress of the Wyse terminal. And this works. The terminal logs on, and the printer gets created. I want the location printer to be the only one the Wyse terminal is able to use.

Problem is. Every printer created is visible to all clients, and the last terminal logged on, becomes the default printer for every client. The user is not in the power users og local admin group.

I use mandatory profile for the user. So it is not possible for them to change anything in the profile.

I would like to hide printers from other session with same username. And to set default printer based on session and not user.

Any ideas?
