I have a Windows 2003 server, that has been running fine for 2 years.
It is facilitated at a large and professional hosting facility.
We normaly connect to the server using remote desktop in administration mode, to perform some daily tasks (eg. forward customers orders to suppliers etc.)
Yesterday, terminal services stopped responding... all connections are refused instantly...
I have checked with the ISP, and there are no issues with their firewall.
I have tried to reboot the server.
I have tried to connec disabling all user drives, printer, audio, clipboard etc.
I have tried both full screen and a lower resolution when connecting.
This morning I had physical access to the server, and everything looks just fine and normal.
There are no events in the log, indicating any errors regarding terminal service, and alle service are up and running as they should.
The only error in the event log is "Network DDC Management failed to start" (which is a network monitor)
The server is directly connected (cross over cable) to another server which I can logon to (using remote desktop), and even from there I cannot establish a remote desktop connection, even though the service is listening on all nics.
The only message I receive is when trying to connect...
"This computer cannot establish a connection to the remote computer"
"Try connecting again. If the problem continues, you should contact the owner of the remote computer or the network administrator"
Please help... it is mission critical that we have a remote desktop to the server.
(Bare in mind that I only have access to the server that from the connected server, though there are no access limitations between them)
