Remote Desktop can't load on internal IP Scope

I have a SBS server 2003 DC, i have setup and configured remote desktop connection successfully and changed the RDP port to 3398, i can logon to the server using the inernet by typing the ip address and specifying the RDP port(3398). i have two network cards internal and external(internet). i am trying to do a remote desktop connection from one of the client machine to that DC (using the internal network Scope) but it always fails. i have another server which i have joined to the SBS domain, i tried to do Remote Desktop connection from that server to the domain controller using the internal ip address scope and it failed as well, when i tried to do an rdp connection using the external scope it was successful, any luck, to know why is that happening? pls help
