I've followed all the Technet instructions to enable Remote Desktop. Had it working for a while and then it stopped working. Part was due to a virus, but that's been fixed. I'm able to that PC with my laptop, as long as I'm inside the network. But when I try from outside, it fails sayin it can't connect. There are two Linsys routers, a wired and a wireless G. Both have port 3389 fowarded. The DSL modem's firewall has the same port fowarded. The PC's firewall has is as well. I don't understand why it doesn't work now, especially when it's configured the same way.
I need two things. One is a Windows based tool simular to the "snoop" tool I use on Solaris to troubleshoot network issues; and/or any other utility that would be helpfull. Second, any advice from people who have experienced this problem before. Keep in mind that when I'm connected to the wired route (where the PC is), I can connect. When on the other floor connected thru the wireless, I can connect. When I'm outside the network, it fails. Outside access is the main reason I set this up.
