We have a TS running in one of our client's offices, it's a fairly conservative 2003 Server with 4GB RAM, but it doesn't cater for that many users, although we are keen to keep the memory usage as low as possible....
The users are running Outlook 2003, which is (according to the TM) using large amounts of memory, usually around 160mb per user plus another 160mb in VM.
I set myself up as a user on the TS and opened Outlook with no PST connected, and no account configured, the memory usage was as high as mentioned previously!
I messed about a bit and found that as soon as I minimized Outlook it was only using 3mb, and if I maximized it again it would be using around 20mb.....!
I have done the usual stuff, made sure Word isn't the default editor, add ons are disable, etc but nothing has changed. Why does it do this? Is it a bug?
Short of asking users to minimize and then restore their Outlook Windows when they log in every morning I'm a bit stumped!!
