Different default fonts when using RD

Hi,
Bit of a strange one - I have an XP SP3 machine which is patched to the max. its running office 2007 which is also fully patched.
When using the machine locally all is well, however when I RD to the box the fonts in office change. i have attached a screenshot to sho what i mean. other default windows fonts are fine, the icons on the desktop etc.
The options for the RD connection are set to full screen and 32bit (highest) colours. the performance tab is set to LAN. The strange font shouldn't be coming form the machine i'm RD'ing from because the fonts all look normal on that machine.

Honestly I dont see a diference in fonts, but it looks more like more of a difference in resolution... Whats set on the Display tab in the RDP Options?

You really can't see a difference? Wow, it's really clear to me and is really annoying :o( you need to download the pic to see it full screen for it to be clear.
The settings on the display tab are Full Screen and Highest Quality/32bit.
The Experience tab is set to LAN so everything is checked on there.
Also, failry sure i didn't have this problem previously. The machine i'm RD'ing to used to have vista on it and display was fine when using RD then. i had to rebuild it with XP because a compatibilty with a backup app i'm trialing. The monitor i'm using to view the RD screen is the same as it was too.

That is typical of an Remote Desktop connection.
Connect to another PC, and Im sure you will find the same.

What you can do is, Open Remote Desktop Connection
OPen Options
Go to Experience Tab
Place a tick next to Font Smoothing

Font smoothing is ticked, as mentioned above - everything on that tab is ticked.

Unfortunately no. RDP is primarily going to be painting teh screen with the LOCAL graphics card. Was working on a machine last week that inside RDP, I had full resolution, but since I uninstalled teh remote Video Card in troubleshooting, the local box only had a 640*480 screen....Does it happen this same way if you remote into this same machine from another box, just to further isolate the problem?
