Remote login to office

Hey Guys,
Is there any way that we can allow our office users to log on from their home to the office to access their desktop at office. I heard about the stuff like reverse proxy but I do not have any idea how to set it up.
I know we can use terminal server but for that we have to buy alot of licences. What are the other options that I can look in to.
