The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Redirected printers are not deleted when users log off their rdp session

Asked by AndyKeen in Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, SBS Small Business Server, Windows 2003 Server

Hi All.

Really need some help with this one as its driving my clients (and me) nuts.

Situation:
Our client has a small network - SBS2003 server with 12 client machines. 5 of these clients connect to another SBS2003 network (seperate company) via HTTP and connect to their "Company application sharing server" - a TS machine.

Two or Three of the clinet PC's (Always the same ones) seem to have 4 or 5 of their OLD TS session printers still in the printers and faxes list (of the remote TS session) so when they re-connect all their old session printers are still there - mix this with the other clients OLD TS session printers and you can have 20 or 30 printers in the list - most of them old session and none of them working.

This is not only confusing, but also I think indicates a problem.

I have seen a few articles referincing this issue but none of them offering a direct resolve to a known issue.

I have considered that the client PC's are the problem and an OS re-instal may solve the problem.

Is this a  know issue ? - is there a direct resolve to this problem - any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you and Regards
Andy
