Cursor won't stop scrolling in an RDP session, works fine on 2ndary monitor RDP session

Weird issue... added a secondary monitor for a user so he can open 2 RDP sessions on 2 separate monitors.  On the new primary monitor, when he's scrolling through a document, the cursor just keeps going & going.

However, it works as it should when connected to RDP on his OLD monitor.  He'll arrow down or up a few times & the cursor stops moving as expected.

We've tried replacing his cordless mouse with a corded one, and also tried changing the mouse speed.  But, since it's only with his RDP connection on one monitor, I'm guessing it's not the mouse.

Also, I'm not even positive it started when the 2nd monitor was added.  The user isn't sure when this issue started.  It'll also happen when he's back spacing through a Word document.  The whole thing is just strange & I don't now what to do!

I hadn't tried the /span switch.  I was thinking maybe it was a bad video card, so I ended up removing it & reverting to the built-in card with 1 monitor.  (I know this isn't a long-term solution because the user isn't happy being back to only 1 monitor for the moment).  Once I removed it, the cursor works fine now, no longer  scrolling continuously through Excel.  But you think /span switch is the solution & maybe I should try putting the card back in??

This is the thread from when I removed the card:

Ok, I think the user is out of the office tomorrow, so I should be able to get back at his computer.  I thought span worked like "stretching", so it was one wide screen, instead of 2 separate sessions?
