I have a network connected HP P3005dn which I can print to fine from my networked systems on the local lan. I am connecting to a remote application server and need to pass the printer connection through the terminal services client. The help page on the application server site mentions the need to capture the port so the printer can be accessed from withing the remote desktop session but the help file only describes procedures for Win 98 and 2K. If a printer is connected directly to my desktop system through USB / parallel the printer passes through without doing anything but when the printer is connected directly to the ethernet this "capture" needs to be done. I am familiar with NET USE but the syntax requires \\server\printer and I an unable to determine what it wants since the Jetdirect name will not work. The printer hostname is NPi19E9A8 but NET USE LPT2: \\NPi19E9A8\HPP3005 fails.
Any help greatly appreciated.
