4. DHCP Console

Once the DHCP Console is open you are able to add the Server but as soon as you click on the server you get a red X on it and on the right hand side it says:

The Error Was: The Remote Procedure Call Failed

5. To do list wizards
The wizard “Connect to the Internet” fails on the first step configuring network, with no additional information.

Conclusion:

Baring in mind I have already rebuilt the DNS according to the Microsoft Article(s), As lots of articles were pointing to a dodgy DNS server, or networking problems. But still not joy.

I think the Remote Procedure Call Failed, but on a serious note does anyone have a solution or solutions, other than a Rebuild?

Can you post how yoru DNS is now configured, almost all of those errors can be attributed to incorrect DNS.

List how you NIC on the server by going to cmd and doing ipconfig /all, post here.

Then go to your DNS mmc and check your server properties what is configured for listening, forwarders, name servers tabs.  lastly check the properties of the zone, is it active directory integrated?, whats listed in name servers and wins.

Even though you've already rebuilt your DNS it looks as though you are missing an entry for the GC.  If you are not familiar with rebuilding DNS, I'd suggest that you consider either a SYSTEM STATE restore if you have a backup from before the problems started happening, or a complete reinstallation of the OS.

Otherwise I'll look at your DNS posting after you've made that.

I would recommend not having the DNS servers listed on the External facing connection (192.168.254.2).  YOu don't need it on that connection...it can also cause weird DNS problems.

WOOT WOOT - all fixed!

Well this is something you don't expect to be affecting it.

ISA2004! I should have known better as I have come across a similar situation before, and this also required the same fix!

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MS_Office/Outlook/Q_21660803.html

There is a simple fix/work around:
1. Make sure you are using the latest updates for ISA2000 and ISA2004
2. Disable the RPC filter under ISA Management Add-Ins Folder

I too had problem with ISA 2004 until I installed the latest SP....well I'm glad your up and running now =)

Will recommend to check your hardware connectivity. This random issues are, sometimes, due a faulty switch or interface card on the affected server.

This question had been solved by the Asker year and a half ago... See the comment that starts with "WOOT WOOT - all fixed!"

by: fceledonPosted on 2007-11-03 at 14:06:37ID: 20208123

THIS particular problem was solved through the ISA server patch, however i had the same symptoms on my network, the problem was a network card with random errors, loosing packages sometimes during authetications other using network shares.

Okay, but why do you have two accounts?  That's not allowed on EE.

Venabili, can you please take care of that?
