The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SBS 2003 SP1: AD Users and Computers issues, Live Communications Server 2005...

Hi All,
Through the motions of dealing with issues resolved here http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/SBS_Small_Business_Server/Q_21909618.html , I've observed other issues that are likely related wtihin Active Directory Users and Computers.

I had observed part of this issue several months ago but the impact was negligble at the time, so I put it off.  That original observation occured after updating SBS 2003 Premium to SP1.  Live Communiations Server 2005 is installed on a member server running Win'03 SP1.  LCS operates normally and has ever since the upgrade to SBS 2001. Users that had LCS accounts are communicating fine with other users.  New users appear to be the problem. Although my issue is related to LCS, I dont' believe it's the root of it.  We'll see!

The primary symptom inlcudes:
  - in AD U&C, double clicking on a user object produces the property pages as expected.  I can click on almost any tab without any errors/msgs and close the property pages by clicking "OK" or "Cancel".  If I change any value on these tabbed pates I can still apply and "OK" to close the properties.  If I click on the "Live Communications" tab, I get an immediate error message that when acknowledged, I cannot close the property pages using the OK button.  I must click Cancel.  The error message I receive is a single OK msg box stating "Failed to read the user's settings".  The title of the msgbox is "Error".  The contents of the Live Communications tabbed page are all disabled.

There are no event log entries that I've found related to this behavior.  Googling the error message has produced no usable results.  Any obserations anyone has will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
