The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Group Policy on XP SP2 joined to Windows 2003 SBS Domain

Heres the basic layout of my network.  

Windows 2003 SBS  ( Domain Controller )
Windows 2000 Server (Member Server, Terminal Server)

40 XP Clients on the domain.

The problem is with one of the client machines running XP Service Pack 2.    We'll say it has a computer name "CLIENT1"

When logged in as the user on CLIENT1 I cannot access any pages that require ActiveX and in the options all the activex related features are greyed out.  

The computer account "CLIENT1" is in the standard computers container in Active Directory Users and Comps.

The user is not in any groups that are affected by other policies that I can tell.  

There are three enabled GPOs.   Default domain policy,  Domain controller policy, and Member Server policy

The only items configured in the default domain policy are for password policies.

If I log into CLIENT1 as administrator I do not have the problem.   None of the other computers on the network are affected.   If I log onto CLIENT1 as another non-administrator user I still have the problem.   If I log onto another computer with CLIENT1's user's account there is no problem.  

I would like to avoid blowing away the machine and reloading it.
