Emails not finding our SBS 2003 Exchange server - HELP

Hi Experts,

PROBLEM: Emails from aol, gmail, yahoo, and possibly others are not getting to our Exchange server; rather are kicked back to the sender with host not found (Host unknown (Name server: mail.mysite.com.: host not found)). Why?

Some details:
1. On Monday, we launched our new SBS 2003 Premium server and Exchange.
2. I created a new domain name at Network Solutions to allow us to migrate our email and website over slowly from our hosting company.
3. DNS is hosted at our ISP
4. We are forwarding our hosted email to our new domain/Exchange server. No issues there.
5. We are able to send and receive emails with our new Exchange server using either the old or new domain names.
6. Problem has been noted from gmail, yahoo, and aol, as some of our users and clients have these accounts.
6.1 We do receive the emails from gmail, yahoo, and aol went they are sent to our old domain name (via hosting company and then forwarded to our new Exchange server).

Seems the problem lies strictly with our new domain name and/or ISP hosted DNS for some servers such gmail, etc. Is there a latency period before new DNS propogates throughout?
