I am trying to replace an existing DLink DI-604 Broadband router with a Netgear Prosafe FVS124G router. I replicated the open ports for Exchange in the FVS124G router, 25, 110, 80, 443, 3389, 4125 & 143. Plus I also opened 444 for Sharepoint, all of these ports are directed to the exchange server on private ip 192.168.1.2, the router in both cases is 192.168.1.1. Users on the network can send email out fine but cannot receive email from sources outside the private network. When I put the DLink back into service the email comes in. They do have a video camera system that also uses ports 3550, 4550, 5550, 81, 5552, 7500, 7600 & 7700 and those are working fine over the internet. The only port not open in the FVS124G that is open in the DLink is something call GRE which is associated with PPTP_GRE. The DLink also allows you to setup "Virtual Servers" that look like the same settings as the Firewall rules for opening and directing ports to a private ip address.
What am I missing?
