HELP - SBS Sharepoint Setup Problem

Hello Experts,

I'm setting up a SharePoint extranet for clients to use per instructions http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServerSolutions/SBS/en/library/626d41ed-668e-4152-872c-61b1af3aed5f1033.mspx?mfr=true.  I get to Step 5 and successfully extend the virtual server.  Now I need to apply the template, but when I click on the site it gives me an error: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".  Is there another place to apply a template? Or what could the problem be?

Is it that I need to locally access this website to change its properties? And if yes, how do I set it's local name?
FYI: I do have a WatchGuard X550e firewall at the edge.
