Will adding a second DC enable trust relationship?

Asked by urbanstyles in SBS Small Business Server, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Windows 2003 Server

We currently have an office running a SBS 2003 domain which was used because of the exchange feature built in.  The company has a separate office in another city that is independantly operated.  The two offices now want to be able to access each other's information.  I would assume this would be accomplished using a VPN in conjunction with a domain trust.  I realize that SBS does not support domain trusts.  My question is, WIll adding a member server as a DC running Windows 2003 Standard Edition enable to me to establish that trust with the other city's office.  I would assume then that the trust would be between the two Standard Edition servers and would get around the limitation of the Small Business Edition server.  Any hints?

Or is our only option to rebuild our Small Business Edition Server with Standard Edition and the full version of Exchange?
