The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

You say you have SP2 so this should not be an issue, but you may want to have a look, especially if SP1 & sp2 have been recently added:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892500

Also 10022/COM seems to be occasionally related to adding 3 party monitoring software. Might this be the case?

hi

i was able to use a 3rd party (logmeinrescue) to view the  details of error above:   hope this helps!

"The machine-default access security descriptor for the COM Server application C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\60\BIN\OWSTIMER.EXE is invalid. It contains Access Control Entries with permissions that are invalid. The requested action was therefore not performed. This security permission can be corrected using the Component Services administrative tool."

Make sure the COM permissions on the SBS are set correctly. To do so:
-enter in the start/run box dcomcnfg
-expand component services
-click on computers
-in the right hand window right click on computer and choose properties--
-choose the COM security tab
-then follow the instructions from the link below:
and then click Edit Default under Access Permissions on the COM Security tab.
6. Make sure that the following user permissions are configured, and then click OK: " Your username: Allow Local Access and Remote Access
" SYSTEM: Allow Local Access only
7. Under Launch and Activation Permissions, click Edit Default.
8. Make sure that the following user permissions are configured, and then click OK:" Administrators (LocalSystem\Administrators) with Allow: Local Launch, Remote Launch, Local Activation and Remote Activation
" INTERACTIVE with Allow: Local Launch, Remote Launch, Local Activation and Remote Activation
" SYSTEM with Allow: Local Launch, Remote Launch, Local Activation and Remote Activation
Note There may be third-party applications that require an account included in the Access Permissions dialog box. However, unknown accounts or security identifiers (SID) should not be included.
9. Click OK, and then exit the Dcomcnfg utility.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934701
If the permissions are wrong and you cannot modify you will have to follow steps 1 to 5 first, from a different machine.

Not good  :-(
Following article outlines some steps that may resolve:
