The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Cannot login to console of SBS server

Asked by AdvizeIT in SBS Small Business Server

Very strange situation with SBS2003 R2.  The installation has been running for 3-4 weeks with no problems.  It's on a Dell PowerEdge 2900 Dual Quad Core CPUs.

Our domain is abc.local.  Yesterday we decided to install a Certificate from a Trusted CA.  I followed the standard procedure.  I had to remove the installed certificate for Default Web.  I got my certificate and installed it as access.abc.com.

Remote users have no problems.  Can connect to OWA, Exchange RPC works fine.  Remote Web Workplace works fine as well.  When I try to login in front of the machine (from the console), I get the following error:

"To Log on to this remote computer, you must be granted the allow log on through Terminal Services right.  By default, members of the Remote Desktop Users group have this right.  If you are not a member of the remote desktop users group or another group that has this right, or if the remote desktop user group does not have this right, you must be granted this right manually."

I AM NOT TRYING TO LOGIN from a terminal server session !!!!  This occurs when I try to login from the console.

If I run mstsc /console or just mstsc from another machine on the network and I connect to this server, I have no problems.  I can login without inclident.

There are no errors in the event viewer Application or System log.

Any help would be appreciated.Start Free Trial
