Sharepoint Document Store Explorer View not displaying

Small Business Server running at a remote site. Client needs to access Sharepoint Document stores, and wants to use the Explorer View to enable rapid document management.
Systems are a combination of Windows Vista and XP Pro using Internet Explorer 7.
Can access the Sharepoint site using url: https://sbs.domain.com:444/default.aspx. Then go into Document Store (say General Documents) and click on 'Explorer View' and a frame opens in the Sharepoint window with "Explorer View requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater and Web Folders'.
So far, I've installed MS KB 907306 with no benefit.
Googling the issue points to a problem in IE7, but I wouldn't care to roll-back to IE6.Start Free Trial
