How do I fix the DNS on SBS without reinstalling SBS

Hello,
I am running SBS 2003 with exchange Server 2003.
This SBS server is for a remote health clinic so I cannot reinstall SBS as I have no media or key to do so.
Can I rebuild the DNS or reinstall as all my issues seems to be related to the DNS.
All clients cannot connect to server using there user names and passwords and
When I remove a client from the domain and try to rejoin after putting in the Username and Password I get: The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "DOMAIN NAME":
       The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.

All clients on the server can no longer access email and there personal drives.
All help greatly appreciated,
