SBS 2003 - OWA not accessible from LAN or WAN -- HTTP 403.14 error

I'm administering an SBS 2003 network (standalone). Outlook Web Access is inaccessible from either the LAN ("localhost/exchweb") or the WAN. There is currently no firewall, though I will be installing ISA 2004 as soon as I can spare the time to get it configured correctly. Server has 2 NIC's, one facing the Internet and one for the LAN, router is a Linksys behind a Netopia 3347W DSL gateway.

I can access RWW with no problems, as well as Remote Desktop (on a non-standard port). I have joined clients via ConnectComputer with no problems. http://companyweb is working, as is http://localhost and "Monitoring and Reporting" page. The only thing that *doesn't* work is OWA. I've run CEICW whenever I've made configuration changes to the network, which is only once, so I don't think that's an issue.

When trying to access "http://myserver.com/exchweb" I get an HTTP 403 - Forbidden error, indicating that  IE "can connect to the website but doesn't have permission to view the webpage." The IIS logfile indicates a 403.14 error ("Directory listing denied") with a Win32 Status code of "5" (haven't found any info on that). I've checked permissions in Exchange System Manager and in IIS, per KB 301428 and 327843, as well as trying to reset the virtual directories per KB 883380. I've also scoured EE for similar problems, and while I've found a number of questions about this problem, I have yet to find any information that has resolved the issue.

This installation of SBS is pretty recent. I've upgraded the network at this location from a workgroup to this Windows domain. everything has worked well so far except this one problem and another problem getting a remote client onto the domain (a separate issue I'm not addressing here). This one has me stumped, so I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.Start Free Trial
