Outlook RPC over HTTP (Outlook Anywhere) not working - repeated password prompt

Asked by techrelief in SBS Small Business Server, Exchange Email Server, OE-WindowsLive

Hi,

I am having some troubles with RPC over HTTP (Outlook Anywhere).

I have exchange 2003 installed on my SBS 2003 server. I have configured my firewall to allow access to the SSL port 443 and configured the outlook clients (2003 & 2007) to connect via HTTP.

when the client logs in it asks for the username and password to which i type
DOMAIN\user
password

but it just keeps popping back up asking for it again.

i have configured IIS - Default Website - RPC folder - director security to allow windows authentication and removed anonymous authentication.

i have a certificate installed and working properly. (IE does not prompt any errors when connecting)

the server has one NIC and behind a firewall that is properly configured. ISA is not installed. i can remotely connect to the server with no problems (https://FQDN/remote)

i am fresh out of ideas, any help will be geatly appreciated :)
