Urgent problem:
Running Small Business Server 2003 Premium.
The problem: Cannot connect to the Sharepoint database. As you probably know, each time IE is run it connects to
http://companyweb/The error message refers me to article 823287.
I have read this article.
- the services for MSSQL$SHAREPOINT are running.
- I made sure Internet Information Services (IIS) is configured NOT to run in IIS 5.0 isolation mode. It is not.
Whats confusing for me is Method 3: It says:
Note the information that is in the Application name box (this is the application pool name), and then click Cancel
There is no Application name box. There is a rectangle for Application pool. It is greyed out.
I checked Add/ remove programs and it shows Microsoft SQL server 2000 (Sharepoint) as installed.
What has changed recently on my server: I had installed Backup Exec at one point. I uninstalled it a long time ago. Yesterday I looked at EM and it showed an instance of Backup Exec running. I uninstalled this instance. Somehow I guess this somehow broke Sharepoint.
I have 3 other sql instances running. They all work fine.
I looked at EM. I dont see Sharepoint as registered. All my other instances show up there. I tried to register Sharepoint in the usual way: right click on SQL server group, select New registration. When I click the browse box, I see all my instances but not Sharepoint.
So what do I do now?
