Hello
I am trying to connect a Mac (10.5) through a wireless access point to our Small Business Server network. When connected through the Built-in Ethernet, the Mac can access the SBS resources and the internet successfully, as can all the other wired and wireless Windows machines. However, when connecting the Mac solely through the Airport, the SBS network resources can be accessed fine, but the internet cannot (times out).
The default gateway is a netgear adsl router, and the SBS is used as the DHCP and DNS server.
When the Mac is run in bootcamp it can use the internet through the Airport, so I'm assuming it's an OS X specific issue. Some checks I have performed so far:
- The Built-in Ethernet and Airport settings are the same.
- The Mac can ping the server, gateway and wireless access point when connected through either.
- However when pinging an external website such as Google through the Airport, the address is resolved, but the the ping times out.
Any recommendations for further checks would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Luke
