I have recently installed backup exec 12 for small buisness server 2003 on an sbs 2003 standard server.
We want to backup our server on an external harddisk (USB) and then NAS later this month.
1)To start ther program I select the icon "backup exec cps counsel."
2) I then try to start a backup job and a message appears "there must be atleast 2 available servers to create a backup job".
I have attached a file with screen shots to show what happens.
The manual that I got with backup exec is not very helpful, this program is a replacement for a previous version of Backup Exec ver 10 which we did not use for 60 days so the license expired, which means we have not got support with it, we are evaluating backup exec if if it is any good we will use it if not we would be happy to hear about alternatives. When we installed sbs 2003 we used NTbackup happily until it suddenly started ejecting tapes and would not backup to an external harddrive which it had done very well for 2 years.
I have read through the symantecs backup exec website, and I can not find the solution to this problem. I did not expect it to be this complicated, have they sent me the wrong license or have I done something wrong
