We're in the middle of an install here at a job... we've installed a brand new SBS2003 Dell server into an exisiting network with an aging server. Previous server was not a domain controller but just more or less a simple file server.
New server is handling AD, DHCP, DNS, File, Print and Timerberline. There are roughly 10 exisitng desktops... 1 brand new that we're installing.
All but 1 of the 10 exisiting computers are not working with the folder redirection. The ones that aren't working are hesitating on the "Applying personal settings" then login without folder redirection working. I've gone over the DNS settings plenty of of times... statically assigning IP and letting DHCP do it's job to no avail. The new machine also worked with the folder redirection.
We've setup an OU for the Client_Users (in AD) and setup the policy under that OU which is what we usually do.
We've also had this problem in the past with a smaller client and wound up formatting the machines (only 2 clients) once the computer was formatted it worked perfectly the first time without anything else being touched.
To add... when the user logs in... the User directory is created and the "Desktop" and "My Documents" folder is created within that on the server in the correct location. There will be a .tmp file in each directory but nothing else. Almost like it starts to work and just quits out.
Any help would be great!
