Simple one this - easy points.
Our client requires us to setup a user on the network (Sbs2003 with exchange) but have their email forwarded to an external address.
As I recall I need to setup the user twice, one with the external email, and then forward the original users emails to this second user. - or something like that....
I have seen this issue before but cannot remember where to find the answer.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction please.
Thank you and Regards
Andy

Create a mail contact as explained here http://www.amset.info/exch
Then, go to the user properties in AD users and computers -> Exchange General Tab -> Delivery Options -> Forwarding address -> Click forward to and pick the newly create mail contact.
Check the box if you want mail to be forward to external address and keep a copy in the original inbox as well.
Active Users And Computers: On the user properties, go to "Exchange General" and click on "Delivery Options". From there select "Forward to" and click on "Modify" to add the contact (the one with external address).
P.s.: Don't forget to have the "View" / "View Advanced Features" in the ADUC console.
Have fun!
I have sent an email to the user - i.e email sent to the domain address and awaiting a reply.
I noticed that there was an smtp virtual connector created - so I am assuming all is OK.
I have also just spoke to the client and he cannot confirm receipt until later...
Should I expect a problem???
Thank you and Regards
Andy

Create a contact that has the external address that you need to forward it to. Then forward all mail to the new contact.
