I'll be the first to admit ... routers, firewalls, and remote access are not my forte....
I always set VPN up with Cisco; and have never had to set it up from scratch. I have a company who has had 3 "consultants" in to set up remote access and no one has gotten it to work. Here's the senerio... SBS Server 2003 running here with a combo DSL Modem, Router, and Firewall (I don't know the brand yet). 2 Desktops here ... 2 Remote. They are currently using Terminal Services (Which because they don't disconnect properly are hanging the 2 licenses they have; and keeping the remote users out). The remote users do not have static IP's but the "Host" has a block of 6 external IP Addresses.
My question is Microsoft's VPN the best solution for this scenario? Or is buying more terminal service license the answer? All they are doing is file sharing now.... but I can see in the future they will want to access databases, accounting software, and calendaring.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.... the simpler the solution the better. They want a "hands off" method that doesn't require administration (no IT staff on site).
Thanks in Advance!
