The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Priv1.edb has suddenly ballooned in size - from approx 20GB to 95GB, almost overnight!!

Hi there everyone, first post on EE!

Basically, we have a customer who uses SBS 2003, and their priv1.edb file has just ballooned in size from 20GB to almost 95GB, which is 20GB bigger than the theoretical maximum (after applying SP2, and changing the registry - in fact I think the registry was changed only to 60GB for the database, so even more strange).

We didn't even notice a problem until the backup failed one day, as they only have a DAT160, so 95GB + their data exceeded the amount.

The mailbox store also started dismounting itself every couple of minutes.

I have run ESEUTIL and ISINTEG to defrag and check for errors, and they both went through and nothing came up. The database remained at the 95GB mark, but when we remounted it it has not dismounted again.

ESEUTIL /P has also been run, but this didn't reduce the size either.

Another thing to note is that when I manually add up the sizes of all the mailboxes on there, it comes to about 20GB, which is the amount the mailbox store should be. So I don't know what the other 75GB is........

Is it possible to mount the database in a recovery storage group, delete the original database, and then move mailboxes into a new database? Due to it being SBS, we can't create another mailbox store. I'm not too sure about recovery storage groups...

Very strange - any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!
