a user as deleted a file from our small business server shared drive  tried the undo button  but this as not worked is there any other way

a user deleted a file from our network share drive, the share drive never back up. i have tried the undo button on the edit bar as many times as i could but this never worked. do the files once deleted from a share drive go into a recycler or are the permanelty deleted or is there another way of getting the files back.

we are using small business server 2003
