Adding CALS to a Small Business Server 2008

Hello,

Does anyone know, how to add CALs to a SBS 2008 Server (Standard)?

I haven't found a solution til now. I have phoned to Microsoft Germany (3 Calls) and nobody could give me an answer. We have bought SBS 2008 Standard + 5 Cals  (MS Product Number 6UA-00563).
Where can i see how much cals are in the server ?

You cannot add CAL's to the server and there is no way to monitor how many are in use. Those tools, believe it or not, have not been carried forward from SBS 2003. It is strictly an honor system. You may have noticed SBS 2003 wasn't very good at 'counting' either, which may be why they dropped it.
That is not to say you are not required to main documentation and appropriate number of CAL's.

Rob is correct. An audit system is now the methodology Microsoft will use ... think BSA. I know of them dropping in on companies out and about our area.

We have had SBS 2003 setups where the CALs were setup properly and the client had more employees added before we could get the CAL keys and the server never choked on that ...

So, after setting up the SBS 2008 server, with 5 licenses, and buying 5 more CALS so that 8 people can connect, why am I not getting a 6th person online?  Message comes back that authentication failed and someone is trying to connect without rights.

So, I should be able to connect without having to open control panel and tell some piece of software that 10 people can connect now?

crazycoonass, you need to open a new question of your own, but the error is not related to CAL's. SBS 2008 doesn't track CAL's.
