Still no internet on the server part 2

I have the same problem described by Sean here:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23861361/No-Internet-Access-on-the-server.html

"I have an SBS server 2003 SP1.

no probs until Friday last week. Open up browser on the server itself and i get cannot display page - dns error. Can access internet etc etc from pcs on network no problem. Antivirus cant update on server as it cant locate update server. I can ping www.google.co.za etc - just not browse?

Ran ICW - dont see any new errors - anything else i should be looking at?"

In my case,
The SBS server is acting as DNS server for the network and uses itself for DNS.  I can ping, my FTP server is working, etc... but I cannot browse.  I followed the instructions described in the solution for sean, but no change on mine.  Any help much appreciated.

A little follow-up info:

Mozilla Firefox has the same problem (cannot browse, appears to be a DNS error).

nslookup tool has no problem resolving domains.

In the enhanced security control panel, you can specify which domains are able to be accessed.  Depending on your security settings, unless it is manually specified, you will not be able to access.  Give that a try.

Where do I find the enhanced security control panel?  I tried adding the sites I wish to visit to my trusted site list to no avail.

This machine has a FTP server running over a dial-up interface and and users routing for that.  I'm wondering if something could be misconfigured here?  When I try to run the firewall it tells me that IPNAT is already running and conflicts with the firewall.  The SBS server should not be providing NAT for the LAN (a router does that).

The "monitoring and reporting" page under "server management" displays the same error message.
You may have your server set up as a router.  If you go to Administrative tools then Routing and Remote access, I would bet you have NAT enabled there.  Disable that and the routing and remote access service.  Ill bet your system is running into a loop.

Ok, I went and looked in RRAS configuration.  The system is setup as a "Remote Access Server" (checked), but not a router (unchecked).  I'm still suspicious that RRAS may somehow be related to this problem though.

If you dont need it, turn it off.  The settings there at best will allow someone to access your files, at worst will do that and give you access problems like you are having currently.  What happens when you start a command prompt and type: "nslookup www.yahoo.com"  from the server?
I am wanting the reply text from the nslookup command

Thanks so much!  You just saved me a LOT of time--I don't think I would have tried this for quite some time!

Sorry not to respond to you quicker Afareldo, had to run off to another appointment.  I do need RRAS on this machine (we use it on a dial-up connection to allow handheld users to FTP data in) so disabling it not an option.  The nslookup command executed fine.  Problem proved to be AVG.  Specifically, I disabled the Link scanner component.
I didn't check it for a loooong while either!

Shot - my first question answered! Yipeee!
Awesome.  AVG 8 sucks.  Good luck.  :)
